SFJAZZ & Stanford Live present Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers in an evening of Kansas City Swing!

Lavay and her all-star group will perform an exciting program of music of seminal Kansas City artists Count Basie, Lester Young, Jimmy Rushing, Joe Williams, Jay McShann, Jimmy Witherspoon, Julia Lee, Myra Taylor and Big Joe Turner.

We are thrilled to present our all-star band, including Mike Olmos (trumpet), Danny Armstrong (trombone & vocals), Rob Barics (tenor sax & clarinet), Chris Siebert (piano), Marcus Shelby (bass) and Leon Joyce (drums). As an extra treat, we're bringing up legendary saxophone player Rickey Woodard from Los Angeles as our special guest star.

Please join us for our first public performance with our band in 16 months, and our first ever gig at the historic Frost Amphitheater, and tell your friends. It's gonna be big fun!
